2020 has been a remarkable year for the vegan movement in Jakarta. With more established restaurants incorporating plant-based dishes and new vegan eateries keep on opening, the landscape for vegan foods in Jakarta is gaining momentum and expected to rise in popularity in the next few years. And earlier this year, South Jakarta, arguably the mecca of vegan and healthy food in Jakarta, has welcomed another vegan eatery, Feel Good Food.

Dedicated to bringing a wide range of healthier irresistible tasty plant-based meals since 2017, Feel Good Food finally opens its second kitchen on Jl. H. Nawi Raya, South Jakarta. Built on a belief in sustainable nutrition, they aspire to serve food that is comforting and nostalgic, just like the food we eat at home. Using fresh and locally sourced ingredients, Feel Good Food is very straightforward with each of their dishes while ensuring it is satisfying, flavorful, and reasonably priced.

Feel Good Food serves quite a good few varieties of Asian and Indonesian-inspired dishes when it comes to their food offerings. From Meatless Sambah Matah, Spicy Duck Noodle, to their new take on Karaage Teriyaki, Feel Good Good proves that tasty plant-based food doesn’t have to be complicated or has to use some fancy hard to pronounce ingredients.

Their Karaage Teriyaki, for example, they cleverly used tofu to replace the scrambled egg, which complements the well seasoned, deep-fried “chicken” karaage and steamed brown rice. It’s a simple dish that admirably will tickle everyone’s tastebuds, including non-vegans. Their Spicy Duck noodle was as flavorful as any regular noodle that uses animal products. It offers a noodle lover a wholesome version without sacrificing the taste.
