Established in 2016, Rumah Juliet specializes in making a vegan dessert with the concept of letter writing, just like in Casa de Juliet, Verona, Italy. Vivian, one of the owners of Rumah Juliet shared with us how her college years in Italy was where the inspiration comes from. Then she brought the idea back home to Indonesia, where coincidentally she had a passion for baking so it became an idea for a bakery/cafe.
Rumah Juliet's interior carries the original Casa de Juliet's atmosphere with a classic interior and exposed brick walls. Located in the corner of Jalan Alpukat, They cater a variety of baked goods choices and serve some savory menus to dine in. The baked goods are 100% vegan; they do not use any dairy products and eggs in any of their products. They also shared with us that they made everything from scratch to maintain their authenticity.
One of the crowd's favorites is the Salted Caramel Cake which is described as a vegan chocolate cake with homemade caramel sauce; we can see why it is the most preferred because who doesn't like a delicious chocolate cake! Especially with the addition of homemade salted caramel sauce, that really helps balance the sweetness.
There is also Coffee Caramel Tartlet, a special Valentine's day menu, but since the demand for it was high, they serve it as their permanent menu. It is a chocolate tart crust filled with salted caramel and coffee pastry cream and topped with chocolate ganache. Describing it sounds like a delightful combination, but it's not at all; it's actually a good mix of coffee and chocolate!
We also got to try the French Toast Cinnamon Doughnut, which is very soft and melts right in your mouth also; the Pain Au Chocolat Croissant deserves mention considering you can never go wrong with a quick bite of croissant. Rumah Juliet is open from 11.30 am to 7.30 pm.
You can visit and dine in Rumah Juliet at Jl. Alpukat 3 No.52, Tanjung Duren Utara, Jakarta Barat or you can also order Rumah Juliet through your go-to online delivery platform!
