For the last two years, Jakarta Dessert Week has positively impacted the culinary scene as the melting pot and culinary hub. Jakarta Dessert Week is back for its third appearance with the theme of ‘Art’, celebrating the array of manifold desserts. Managed to stay present in the midst of a pandemic, for this third year JDW is collaborating with Tokopedia from October 25th, 2021 to November 14th, 2021.

Jakarta Dessert Week’s co-founders; Talita Setyadi, Arimbi Nimpuno, Gupta Sitorus, Kevindra Soemantri, Tria Nuragustina, and Primo Rizky has curated cake shops and restaurants for JDW 2021 with over 60 brands participating and presenting hundreds of desserts. JDW 2021 also has a special collaboration menu only attainable in JDW 2021 from different brands with iconic brands such as Oatly, Andros, Cacao Barry, and many more.

This year’s Jakarta Dessert Week was also supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) – one of the Indonesian government's efforts to encourage the rise of the creative economy in Indonesia. Apart from offering an array of desserts, JDW 2021 also presents events from dessert demos and provides education over the Tokopedia Play platform from key people in the culinary industry.

It will be fun to see different creations and interpretations for this year’s theme, Art, which aims to challenge chefs on their creativity by making artworks from both Indonesia and abroad. Categories include cake, bread, cookies, ice cream, gelato, healthy treats, or vegan treats. Vegan brands joining this year include Rumah Juliet, Orvia Gelato, Arte Bakeshop, Art of Being Healthy, Melts, and Cream Fiction

Among the brands that presented, these brands have created outstanding art on the desserts. Rumah Juliet’s created an amazing dessert box and on top of it, they constructed the painting of Picasso’s Jacqueline using flowers. Art of Being Healthy’s mixed cake with the theme of nature, Hokkaido Baby’s plant-based pudding inspired by French impressionist, Claude Monet’s vision of nature’s beauty, Orvia’s rendition of Van Gogh’s Starry Night into a sweet and tart fresh ice cream, and Louven Purejoy’s recreation of Mark Rothko’s painting into a bite-sized pound cake.

With a lot of fun and unique arts manifested into desserts, you can relieve that sweet tooth and go visit Jakarta Dessert Week’s Tokopedia to order from October 25th, 2021 to November 14th, 2021. You can also join the activities they provide throughout the event by catching more info on their Instagram @jakartadessertweek.
