After successfully designing one of the most popular sneakers in 2018, the Nike Air Max 97/1, Sean Wotherspoon has teamed up with Adidas to launch a sustainable, animal-free and eco-friendly sneaker for his next outstanding move by turning Adidas Originals’ classic shoe, the Superstar, into the SuperEarth.
The sneaker is constructed from waste materials such as cork and OrthLite for the insole and recycled paper for the laces. The body itself is made using synthetic leather containing recycled polyester and finished with hand-drawn flowers embroidered onto the sidewalls alternate between bright yellow and red and muted black. Still, all have their stems extend beyond the midsole, makes SuperEarth exceptional in its class.
This SuperEarth is just one of the many vegan sneakers out there. Skater shoes from Ethletic, travel shoes from Tropicfeel, waterproof cannabis vegan sneakers from DopeKicks, even Vans, and many more have also contributed to making a more sustainable footwear for all of us.
PETA also approved the SuperEarth sneakers and said, “These fab vegan shoes are a dream come true. Thank you for creating stylish and unique shoes that save our planet and the animals who live on it. You are leading the way towards vital changes in the sneaker world.”
On @adidasoriginals’s post, many people expressed their appreciation and joy in the comment section. Many also requested Adidas to launch more sustainable and eco-friendly shoes instead of making it limited edition or seasonal.
