Known for his titular role in Disney's Aladdin in 2019 and Jared Malik in the Canadian-drama series Open Heart (2015), Egyptian-Canadian actor, Mena Massoud who has been vegan for five years recently just launched a vegan cookbook which titled "Evolving Vegan." Cited from their website, the book is going to compile a vegan lifestyle book featuring North America's best plant-based establishments, restaurateurs, and chefs to show that eating plant-based around North America is accessible, fun, and trendy.
The book also contains recipes inspired by people from around North America and the different cultures around North America. Their life-changing journey as they visit all of the beautiful cities are documented on video. Mena himself will be sitting down and talking to the locals about not an only plant-based lifestyle but also about their hopes and fears.
"Our mission is simple: it's not about labels, it's not about being a 'vegan' or 'vegetarian' or 'omnivore' - it's about evolving. For the good of our fellow species, our planet, and our health, we need to continue to evolve vegan."
Mena said he wanted to raise awareness on not about being a vegetarian or vegan, but to change our lifestyle for the well-being of our planet, even if it means cutting out our meat consumption to once a week or substituting our dairy milk to plant-based milk. It is literally about anything we can do to make the Earth a better place for humans and our fellow living beings.
