When we think of alternatives milk, all of us will immediately think of soy, almond, oat, or any other non-dairy milk made from nuts. But this Swedish start-up food tech company, DUG, just redefined what we know about alternative milk by launching the world's first potato milk. Owned by a Swedish company called Veg of Lund, DUG believes that a nutritious, filling, sustainable and delicious plant-based drink should be a convenient choice for everyone.

Feature three different variants, DUG Original, DUG Unsweetened, and DUG Barista option, all DUG milk made from potatoes and rapeseed oil with some additional ingredients to maintain their quality and greater nutritional value. They are also ??free from lactose, dairy, soy, gluten, and nuts; therefore, it is perfect for those who have lactose and gluten intolerance or have nut allergies.

With DUG's innovation and technology, they successfully develop a new way to create that creamy, delicious, plant-based milk made from potatoes that works just like any other milk. And as it is made from potatoes, their milk is packed with vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein, and carbohydrates.

When it comes to its sustainability aspect, DUG Potato milk uses half the amount of land, 56 less water than almond milk, and a 75% lower footprint than dairy milk. Therefore, DUG proves that their potato milk is more environmentally friendly than any other plant-based milk such as oats or almonds.

Cited from Vegconomist, the company says, "DUG, our new, patented, award-winning, potato-based dairy alternative, ticks all the boxes: deliciously creamy, perfectly foamy, super–sustainable, and versatile, performing just as well in hot drinks as it does in cooking and in baking," The milk is priced at £12.50 per cartoon (6x1lt) and is currently available in Sweden and the UK via Amazon, Naturally Vegan Supermarket NAVESU, and DUG's official website.
